Taro Tanaka is a former teacher in Akane Academy of the Year 1 Class 1, the same classroom as Moroha Haimura, Satsuki Ranjou, and Shizuno Urushibara. He is soon revealed to be the infamous "Invisible"

Taro is often described as a spectacled unremarkable-looking man in his forties with short black hair in a side-parting style and an unhappy face, almost to the point of being "too normal".

He has shown himself to be somewhat of a diligent teacher, doing what it takes to instruct his students and lead them down the correct path of their development

Overall, Taro is among the most experienced and masterful Shirogane in the world, having awakened earlier on in life, and then spent time continuing to hone the techniques he learned from his past life before the founding of the White Knight Order. As a result of his past life, as an assassin, he showed himself have completely mastered such stealth and assassination techniques, enough to have become known as "Invisible", an infamous person capable of kidnapping a vast number of Saviors without leaving the slightest hint of his presence, capable of kidnapping A Rank Saviors, even bypassing the numerous techniques of Charles Saint-Germain. As a testament to this, Moroha has considered Taro to be scariest opponent to him, different from Sir Edward Lampard, and the duo of Shiba and Nelly, making it difficult for Moroha to defeat or hurt him. Same as both Jin and Elena, during the final battle against Andou, he was considered comparable to S Rank.

Doubling as a teacher in Akane Academy, Taro showed himself skilled enough to instruct the students in his class, as he is knowledgeable in different kinds of Light Arts, which has caused him to earn the respect of students such as the Striker Unit and Moroha Haimura. He, in particular has mastered techniques derived from "Godspeed", ranging from Komon, Rokuzon, Mongyoku, and Rentei, all of which has earned himself the moniker of "Invisible", capable of moving around without the slightest presence or sound.

  • The name Taro means "thick, big" (太) (ta) and "son" (郎) (ro).
    • Taro's surname Tanaka means "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta) and "middle" (中) (naka), which literally means "dweller in the rice fields" altogether.
